seriously?

ok. this is becoming a broader trend that has been annoying me in my Asian travels. i get online (from MY laptop), go to a favorite site (Google or Blogger), and notice that everything is suddenly in the local language. now that makes sense at an internet cafe or a public computer, but on MY computer? where a webpage (made my people as smart as the folks at Google) can easily detect what version of my web browser i'm using (the US version of firefox, etc). it's not like i magically learned thai as soon as i landed in bangkok.

oh well.

  1. Actually you're totally right. This is absolutely idiotic on their parts. Google should be serving up pages FIRST filtered by your Google account (where they have saved your language preference, personal info, etc) and then when not logged in, use the IP. This is just lazy.
